A Girl and Her Bike

Photobucket

I remember a time not too long ago that I despised exercise. Wow, how things have changed. I can't imagine my life without it now. Exercise, especially biking, keeps me sane and helps me deal with stress. Riding my bike has done wonders to my mood and mental health...oh, and my legs, damn they are looking good. I clear my head while I fly down the trail, ipod in my ears, Kinks blaring. I'm not sure if the people on the hike and bike trail enjoy my singing, but I sure do like pretending they do. Never thought I would see the day when I was blogging about the joys of exercise. Seriously. I think the key to enjoying a workout is to find something you enjoy doing. It only took me 15 years to decide biking was for me...

Fall

Autumn has finally arrived in Texas. The temps have been in the 50s and 60s all weekend and it has been amazing. Fall is my favorite season. I love the crisp, cool air. It's time for pumpkins and gourds. Tea instead of coffee. Spice cake, soups, chili, and stews. Long bike rides in the cool air. Red wine and dark beer. Camping and camp fires! No more 105' days for a while!

Chris turned 38 last Wednesday. I made his favorite meal - chicken parmigiana for dinner and cheesecake for dessert.

Friday was our 5 year wedding anniversary. We celebrated with a nice dinner and a cozy evening at home. Life has been busy lately, so it was good to relax.

The weather today was perfect for a Sunday. It rained all day. I laid in bed till noon dozing in and out of consciousness. I have been waiting for a day like this for a while. A day that can be spent relaxing with the pups and making a meal that takes a few hours to complete. I made a delicious chicken noodle soup today, Chris' request. Toasted up some sourdough bread with a little Romano cheese. Perfect ending to a cozy, relaxing weekend.
