Reunited

and it feels so good. Peaches and Herb...like my dogs, but singers.
Last weekend I had the opportunity to reunite with one of my favorite people. We don't get to see each other often. She lives in Queens (Richmond Hill) NY. I spent my childhood living around the corner from her, so we go way back. We went to the same elementary school, Holy Child Jesus, and we were in Brownies and Girl Scouts together. One time we even got to see New Kids on The Block. I remember Meg and I screaming like crazed girls and her sister and my mom making fun of us. My best childhood memories are of Meg and I spending time together doing things little girls do.
My family and I moved the summer before 6th grade to PALESTINE, TX! Culture shock and puberty hit at the same time and I did not adjust well. My grades slipped and I hated my new school. Sucked! Meg and I kept in touch through it all. We wrote letters...lots of letters and we chatted on the phone when we could. She even came to visit me the summer after I moved to hell...I mean Palestine. Through it all we kept in touch. Never going too long without catching up on what was going on in each others lives. Now that we are older we get to see each other a few times a year.
Last weekend I got to surprise Meg in Vegas for her bachelorette party. We started planning the trip in January, so I had been keeping the secret for a very long time. It was perfect! She had no idea and was shocked. The weekend was one of the best I have ever had. I laughed so hard that my stomach cramped. Meg and her friends are hilarious. We ate, drank, puked, chillaxed...all the things that a good girl weekend consists of and I'm so glad I got to be part of such a special trip.
June 27, 2009 Meghan is getting married at Holy Child Jesus. The church where we had our first communion. You know...wedding dresses and suits on 2nd graders. This time Meg's wedding dress will be more approrpriate. I can't wait; it's going to be epic!
